The Early Head Start Program

Head Start is a no-cost comprehensive school readiness program providing education, health, nutrition, and family services to qualifying children who are 6 weeks to 3 years old. Summer Preschool partners with New St. Paul Head Start Agency, Inc. to provide Head Start services and we share and support their mission to, “Work together to empower children and families by providing comprehensive services (Health, Nutrition, Social Service, Mental Health, Disabilities, Education, Transition and Parent Involvement) that help to ensure a better future”.

The class meets Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wrap around service is available for those needing care after 3:30 p.m. Our teachers are trained and credentialed. Each day includes healthy meals, snacks, and lots of fun. Learning begins at birth.

We provide a clean, safe, and fun place for children birth to 3 years of age. Babies and toddlers are encouraged to explore and discover in a safe and clean active learning environment. Our teachers acknowledge and support children’s choices in exploration and play helping them achieve their desired outcome. We utilize the HighScope Infant & Toddler Curriculum to provide age-appropriate learning experiences that stimulate their development.

The Head Start program is funded by the Administration for Children and Families and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
